Life in the Fast Lane

Life in the Fast Lane -
I just recently moved from small town MN to the big city. I am a student at FIT loving the fact that everyday I am learning something new, and expanding my knowledge when it comes to the industry. As an aspiring PR girl I am determined to gain as much experience as I can. Living in one of the fashion capitols of the world I am truly inspired by anyone and everyone I see. I have never met so many creative, free-willed, and ambitious people. Everything about this environment is so motivating to me, and just proves there is no doubts when it comes to my dreams. Starting my journey in NYC is a dream come true, and I want to share my experiences with everyone. You'll have to bare with me when it comes to my pictures, the iPhone is all I have until my birthday (fingers crossed a new camera is coming soon).

California Rock

Something I love about NY is how people aren't afraid to express their own personal style. I was with my sister, cousins, and aunt at this cute little place called The Grey Dog (recommend trying it if you are ever in NY). I caught eye of this outfit in line (not to mention her gorgeous California beach hair, so jealous!) and had to ask right away for some pictures. She gave off that simple rocker vibe with black skinnies, cheetah ankle boots, and if you take a close look you can see tucked into her back pocket was a studded leather jacket. What I liked the most was that it wasn't to over the top, and by adding the printed boots she totally completed the entire outfit. Try to picture it with plain black ankle boots, it would have totally changed everything!

Since being in NY I've noticed a trend of layering your wrist with all kinds of bracelets, watches and wearing multiple rings. You can never have to much accessories, and if you ever need a little color this is the perfect solution. Just be careful when transitioning into fall. This isn't something that would work the best over long sleeves.
